CSIL 112 SU01: Character Concepts (online)

Character concepts are used in a wide range of visual media and industries, from graphic novels and comic books to video games and animation.
Apply your illustration and storytelling skills to capture the personality, essence and story of a character from archetype to storyboarding in this pivotal illustration course. Through assignments, case studies and presentations, you will learn a range of processes, methods and techniques used by contemporary concept artists to generate memorable characters.
Guided through prompts and step by step instruction, this course will provide you with skills to both follow a preexisting creative vision or design brief and develop your own unique character concepts.
CSIL 110 SU02: Introductory Illustration (online)

Illustration is a dynamic practice, linking images to text, distilling thematic concepts through relatable imagery, and catching the attention of an audience.
It has been used to illuminate text throughout human history and has become a sought after skill in various creative industries, including video games, animation, and visual effects. Artistic and creative directors, digital and technical artists, as well as production and design teams look to illustration as a key component to creative development.
In this course you will be lead through hands-on projects, presentations, discussions and critiques that will expose you to a variety of techniques, media and styles as you explore how content, design elements and materials are used in the translation of ideas into images.
